As Ever

Tragically, I've been hit by a car. No, sorry, did I say 'hit by a car'? No what I mean is The Sussex Arts gig has been cancelled. And of course, some people might not consider me getting hit by a car as being at all tragic. But what a disaster.

On a positive note we'll be playing live @ The Providence, Western Road, Brighton, Saturday 19th March. Possibly we'll be masquerading as a 'real band', with a guest bassist and The Steam Age on live drums / percussion. Plus we'll be @ www.allmanna.co.uk/ in North London on Friday 8th April with 100 Bullets Back.

I'm just about over feeling completely exhausted all the time so hopefully I'll be able to get back to work this week. Lots of nice tunes to mix down. Over the weekend I received the bumper Basta Book and CD's of Gurdjieff 'Harmonic Development' {featuring over 19 hours of harmonium musings and the odd recording of Mr. G telling stories} from Dr. Jo. Objective Music! Also received three Ivor Cutler CD's from John Tabel. I am soooo gonna get a harmonium! How inappropriate?! But I think that sound would work really well on some of our more tragic {or 'don't come in, I haven't finished bleeding to death'} pieces.

Increasingly I'm finding that things I've taken for granted in the past {like Quicktime for example} to be pretty much useless. I love it when a piece of software takes over your system - attempting to open files and then totally failing to play them. That's great - really special. Like a mobile phone that can't handle incoming calls. We need more stuff like this, more ineffectual design elements, more architectural dead space. More garbage, more funding of software that only opens files that don't exist.

Loved and feared, The Mekano Set
